Complaint processing

We support you with complaints regarding

  • Glass products with defects such as glass breakage, vacuum loss, deformation, scuffing (abrasion on glass surface at contact points with other bottles), labelling problems, particles on inner surfaces
  • Problems during filling with regard to foaming (irregular filling heights)
  • Closure problems such as leakage (line-over finish), torque abrasion, lid abrasion
  • Gushing (uncontrollable outflow and overfoaming of carbonated beverages when opening the bottle)
  • Creation and revision of specifications with corresponding AQL values
  • Foreign body analyses of e.g. glass splinters, plastic or metal particles
  • SEM-EDX analyses according to DIN ISO 22309 for semi-quantitative content determination or general identification of the material, if necessary with image documentation, chemical scan analyses, mappings, line scans (depending on the order)
  • ICP-OES analysis according to DIN 51086-2 of the elements or element oxides: Al, As, B, Ba, Bi, Ca, Cd, Ce, Co, Cr, Cu, Er, Fe, Hg, K, Li, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Ni, P, Pb, S, Sb, Se, Si, Sn, Sr, Ti, V, Zn, Zr
  • X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF) according to DIN 51001 and DIN 51418 (> 0.001 wt.% concentration) for analysing other elements such as F, Cl, Br, N
  • FT-IR spectroscopy according to ASTM E 1252 e.g. for plastic analyses, boron
  • Density determination using the floating method, sinking method
  • Microscopic examination according to ISO 8039
  • Melting point determination, e.g. of plastics

Please note that a reference material is generally useful for an unknown find, but of course not necessary. Most of the analyses are carried out in an almost non-destructive manner.

  • Breakage origin analysis
  • Surface examination with regard to scratch resistance (focus on HEV/KEV coating), labelling, satin finish, printing
  • Analyses and measurements of dimensions and bodies, e.g. using a microscope, 3D measurement and computer tomography (CT)
  • Corrosion analyses, e.g. of deposits on the inner surfaces of glass
  • Stress assessment, e.g. of cooling or streak stress
  • Impact resistance tests (pendulum impact test, impact test)
  • Internal and vertical pressure
  • Thermal shock resistance
  • Sliding angle test
  • Examination of colour streaks
  • Inclusions, Blisters
  • Detection of e.g. corundum, glass ceramic, refractory material
  • Melting tests
