Accessibility Statement for This Website
The Act to Strengthen Accessibility (“BFSG”)
Basic Information on the Applicability of the BFSG
The BFSG took effect on June 28, 2025. Since then, all relevant products and services offered to consumers (in the EU) must be accessible—at least to the extent that they fall under the law.
The law therefore applies only to content directed at consumers; purely B2B content is exempt. Furthermore, there is no retroactive requirement to make “old” content created before June 28, 2025, accessible.
Section 2, No. 26 of the BFSG defines the scope of application as follows:
“digital services as defined in Section 1(4)(1) of the Digital Services Act that are offered via websites and mobile applications and are provided electronically and in response to an individual request from a consumer with a view to concluding a consumer contract”
Applicability to this website
By its very nature, the website “igrgmbh.de” is intended solely for business partners. We offer services that are primarily of interest to business customers. Of course, we do not “turn away” private customers, but the website is not primarily intended for them.
Furthermore, the website does not offer any way to enter into a contract—it serves solely as a promotional platform for IGR Institut für Glas- und Rohstofftechnologie GmbH.
Voluntary Accessibility
Of course, as a company, it is still important to us to ensure that as many users of the website as possible—including those who rely on some form of accessibility—have the most comprehensive and informative experience possible on this site. For this reason, we have
- Added alt text to all images, including older ones, to the best of our knowledge
- We have adjusted the text contrast so that people with visual impairments can read it. If there are any texts with a conformance level of “A” instead of “AA” or higher according to the current WCAG guidelines, this is solely for advertising or “corporate design” purposes; even if these texts are ignored, the meaning of the subpage remains clear
- designed our entire site, including forms and navigation menus, to be fully operable via the keyboard
- Our entire website—or at least all content created after the above-mentioned cutoff date—is designed to be screen reader-compatible
We use language that is easy to understand—as much as is possible in an academic setting.
